This is the extension of our run over the George Washington Bridge.
Just a quick guide to how to add another 2-3 miles to your run in New Jersey without getting run over.
You will have some challenging hills on the way back, but that shouldn’t be a surprise – what goes down must come up (at least in running world).

Once you come over the GWB, you take the first left possible onto Hudson Terrace.
Skip the first entrance to Palisades Park and head downhill to the next entrance.
Taking a left into the park will take you East and then North back under the bridge.
It’s downhill most of the way, so enjoy the free speed!
Here’s a map of the park also:

After about 3/4 of a mile, you’ll have reached the bottom, where you have vending machines, bathroom, including water, even in the winter!
That’s a nice perk.
You can extend the run, as I show you, by cutting back and running again under the bridge to the South on a little footpath, until it ends.
You’ll be running with only the lapping of the Hudson’s waves as company, right on the river’s edge.
It’s a lovely morning thing to do!
The fun will come on the way back, when you get your hill training!!
There are a couple of obvious places to stop, but once you get up that last hill, the GWB will never seem that hard again!
Happy Running – Scott
